The link below is a query on the SROWA catalogue searching for "conditional", "ticket", "expiree" or "convict" in Series S122 which are WA Supreme Court Indictments. The results will include those who were "not guilty". You can modify the search to add in your person of interest's surname. If you find any interesting cases you then need to order the documents to be retrieved so that you can view them in the SROWA Research Room at SLWA. They are still adding records after 1885. Reportedly at least some of the convicts have a brief bio in amongst the trial paperwork, although the one we looked at didn't. To see an example of the indictment papers available look at the 1882 conviction of John Henry Flint #8554. The quality of the documents will unboutedly vary but in this example many pages wouldn't photograph and as you will see the hand scanner used did not produce a great result. If you really want the paperwork for a particular trial you may be best off asking the SROWA team to scan it and pay the cost.

You need to scroll down to see the cases or else click on "Advanced Seach options" to hide the search details. Currently you should see 866 results with 231 of those "not guilty". Some cases involve more than one convict.

The convict index below is a work in progress. We are adding convicts that we know were sentenced in the Supreme Court and a few that we know were acquitted. Eventually we would like to include all of the "not guilty" cases (need a volunteer to record them!).
